Congress of
California Seniors Executive Director
lays out progress on California health care
initiative in interview on TSN Radio on the Web
Sacramento, CA, March 6, 2007—Gary Passmore,
executive director of the Congress of California
Seniors (CCS) says the current health care
initiatives before the state’s Legislature will
have far-reaching implications for not only
California’s elderly, but the uninsured and others
as well.
Passmore made the observation during the first of
what will be a series of updates on activities
affecting CCS on TSN Radio on the Web, a feature and
public service of
www.TodaysSeniorsNetwork.com, one of America’s
leading informational web sites for Seniors and
Boomers.
He
also examined the issue of access to safe,
affordable prescriptions as provided by CCS’
cooperative effort with a premier mail order
pharmacy with
www.SafeSourceRx.com.
“This site reflects our commitment to providing an
increasing number of Californians—and even all
Americans—with the ability to purchase prescription
medicines, confident in the safety and efficacy—as
well as savings of 40 to 80 percent—of those
medicines,” Passmore says.
During the interview, Passmore noted the tremendous
challenges facing the California health care system,
including the sheer size and population of the
state.
“That’s why we’re working with a number of other
organizations to promote the right of Californians
to the benefits that can be provided by a
progressive health care delivery system,” Passmore
says.
He
notes that CCS has also identified a number of other
issues—including death with dignity—that will be
explained in future interviews.
