Understanding the Alzheimer's
Epidemic…Briefing and screening of 'pocket'
films
On Tuesday, March 11, the Alliance for Aging Research will
host a Congressional briefing about the
looming epidemic of Alzheimer's, its
consequences and the promise of research.
Following the briefing, four short 'pocket'
films will be screened. The films are tools
to increase understanding of this
devastating disease and will be universally
accessible -- easy to download, view and
forward. The Alliance for Aging Research is
bringing together:

WHAT: Congressional briefing about Alzheimer's disease and
screening of 'pocket' films
WHEN: Tuesday, March 11, 2008, 4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
WHERE: Reserve Officers Association, 1 Constitution Ave, NE,
5th Floor, Washington, D.C.
WHY: Today 24 million people have Alzheimer's worldwide. This
will quadruple to 100 million by 2050. The
greatest risk factor for Alzheimer's disease
is age, and currently, there are no
therapies to prevent or cure this fatal
disease.
Founded in 1986, the Alliance for Aging Research is a
nonprofit, independent organization
dedicated to improving the health and
independence of aging Americans through
public and private funding of medical
research and geriatric education.
The Alliance combines the interests of top scientists, public
officials, business executives and
foundation leaders to promote a greater
national investment in research and new
technologies that will prepare our nation
