Fox,
Radio City Music Hall and
Rockettes' Magic combine to make memorable
Christmas spectacular

The Fabulous Fox Theater is in and of itself
a magical place. It is undeniable that it
offers a treasure trove of theater history
and memories.’
And, when the recipe is enlarged to include
the elements of one of America’s most
revered Christmas traditions—the Radio City
Music Hall Christmas Spectacular featuring
the equally iconic Rockettes, the
combination is literally magical, creating a
memorable Christmas spectacular that serves
to remind us why this is a season of joy and
happiness—regardless of the economic
Grinches that would attempt to destroy it.
For this review, I was fortunate enough to
have three children with me, and I can
assure you that seeing this show through the
eyes of children, magnifies the joy even
more.
Even in an age of hand-held electronic
games, there is still something special
about seeing dancers, elves, live animals,
and even Santa Claus all on the same stage.
Some reviewers criticize the show as
old-fashioned and too sweet. May they have
lumps of coal left in their Christmas
stockings.
The Rockettes, who got their start in St.
Louis, continue to amaze with their
precision, with the Wooden Soldiers and the
Rag Dolls numbers especially enjoyable.
As always, the show builds to the memorable
climax of the Living Nativity Scene in which
we are reminded of ‘the reason for the
season.’
This is a wonderful opportunity to build a
family Christmas memory, a Christmas Gift in
and of itself from the Fox and Dance St.
Louis. It shows once again that there is
still magic in the air.
