New
research shows a daily dose of flowers can enhance
overall well-being
December 2006 (Medialink) -- For those that may
experience a bit of the winter blues now that the
cold months are upon us, a new study reveals fresh
flowers can be a natural remedy to enhance moods.
The behavioral research study conducted by
Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical
School, uncovered that people feel more
compassionate
toward others, have less worry and anxiety and feel
less depressed when fresh-cut flowers are present in
the home.
The research showed that those who lived with
flowers for less than a week felt an increase in
enthusiasm, energy and compassion toward others.
Overall, people in the study simply felt less
negative after being around flowers at home and even
in the workplace for just a few days.
There are many simple ways to add a daily dose of
fresh flowers around the house.
Flowerpossiblities.com offers tips on how to
incorporate the study’s findings by creating simple
flower recipes and placing the arrangements in
high-traffic areas around the home.
