Jilted bride gifts wedding to senior
citizens
A bride to be who was jilted before her
wedding day decided to use her wedding as a
party for residents of a retirement
community.

(WiredPRNews.com) – A jilted bride found a
way to turn her heartbreak into something
special for a group of individuals she
didn’t even know.
As reported by the NY Daily News, Teanne
Harris, donated her wedding reception to
members of a retirement community after her
finance decided not to go through with the
wedding plans.
Mary Eichenfeld, the resident services
director of the Des Plaines, Illinois based
Asbury Court Retirement Community, is quoted
in the report as stating of the gift, “She
came in one day and said she wanted to make
a donation… I don’t think she knew anybody
here, and we don’t get offers like that. So
we were thrilled and so were our residents.
It came out of the blue.” Eichenfield
further noted, “She came to the party and
while I saw her smiling, I’m sure she was
feeling pretty bad.
Harris’ mother Bari is quoted by the NY
Daily News as stating of her daughter’s
donation, “Yes, there’s mixed emotion… It
could have been a lot worse, just sitting at
home, knowing that nothing was used.”
