Harvey holds longest continuing sponsorship In broadcast history
CHICAGO, Jan. 8, 2004/ -- Radio Hall
of Fame commentator Paul Harvey, "the most listened-to man in
radio," also has the longest continuing sponsorship record in
broadcast history ... 34 years! The sponsor, Bankers Life and Casualty
Company(R), returned Jan. 3, 2004 to ABC on Paul Harvey News.
In 1952, Bankers signed with Paul
Harvey as a sponsor and continued for more than 30 years. When Bankers
was sold in 1985, the sponsorship with Paul Harvey ended. Now nearly 20
years later, Bankers has signed on again with Paul Harvey.
"Bankers is an industry leader in
long term care and Medicare supplement insurance and who better to share
that message than the voice of America himself, Mr. Paul Harvey,"
said Edward M. Berube, president and CEO of Bankers.
ABC Radio Networks takes great pride
in their strong relationships with long-time sponsors. Paul Harvey also
stands by all sponsors and will only accept ones that he endorses.

Other sponsors on the Paul Harvey
News' roster include Archer Daniel Midland, Wal-Mart(R), General
Electric(R), Bose(R) and Walgreens(R).
