House
Judiciary Committee ‘Hell-Bent’ on pushing
language to empower Pharma to attack access
to safe, affordable medicines via personal
importation says Lead Organizer of RxRights
Coalition
Lee Graczyk, Lead Organizer of the

Coalition,
a nation-wide group of advocates working on
behalf of the right of American citizens to
have access to safe, affordable medicines by
utilizing personal importation of their
prescription medicines has issued the
following statement about the House
Judiciary Committee markup of the Stop
Online Piracy Act (SOPA), which would allow
the pharmaceutical industry (Pharma) to
engage in actions that would deny millions
of Americans access to vital medicines
because they could not otherwise afford them
due to prescription drug costs in America
being the highest in the world.

The statement follows:
It appears that Congress is hell-bent on
fast tracking the legislation we've been
warning you
about (SOPA and PROTECT
IP). If these proposals prevail,
"we the people" lose and Big Pharma
wins--big time.
The House Judiciary Committee will be marking
up (amending) SOPA on
Thursday, December 15 at 10:00 a.m.
The health of hundreds of thousands of
Americans is riding on this bill. You need
to act now. Use our easy online system to send
a letter to your representatives today
urging them to stop SOPA.
SOPA will literally kill online drug
importation. It will guarantee that the drug
industry can continue to charge exorbitant
prices and rake in obscene profits.
Meanwhile, an increasing number of Americans
will suffer or even die because they can't
afford their needed medications--and this is
not an overstatement.
We urge you to take
action today before it's too late!

RxRights Lead Organizer
